THE FOUR TEAMS AND THEIR PROJECTS
Team Name | Project |
D-UNIT (Diversity Unit) | KID - Kids Involvement Day - learn what it was like to facilitate a group of younger students in leadership activities. |
DTA (Dedicated Teens in Action) | Kick Out The Violence - hear about how the students handed out information at our kickball tournament and more about violence prevention and awareness. |
NANAWEEYA (Combination of letters from team members' names) | Pregnancy, Violence, Suicide and Drugs - receive information attached to a lollipop on issues concerning teens. This group has also created a skit about these issues that they will perform after the LIA fair, privately just for their peers in the program. |
NAVIGATORS - Power, Pride, Passion (As Agents of Change, we navigate and choose our path using qualities that we value (the three P's) ) | Open Your Eyes and Realize What's Happening In Sudan - Find out what it was like to meet with Senator Kerry's Aide about the genocide situation, as well as raise money for this cause in collaboration with Doctors Without Borders and SAVE Darfur Coalition. |
Agents of Change Kick Out the Violence Kickball Classic
The purpose of the tournament is to have fun and to give our students an opportunity to showcase their leadership skills in organizing the tournament. One of the teams of students did their Leadership In Action project on violence, and changed the title of the tournament. All teams helped in the planning of this event.

Felt Party
On Tuesday evening, March 15, 2005, we held a successful event at
to let people know what we have been up to and to spread the word about volunteer opportunities.
Special thanks to the Felt for offering their space as a free venue including free appetizers and access to billiard tables. The Felt also gave us two certificates for more free parties like this which we raffled off to lucky winners. AOC t-shirts were raffled off as well!
A big giant thank you also to everyone who came, it was great to see you! We will let you know when we have another event of this kind.
